Satisfy Your Thirst for Adventure: 5 Mountain Brewing Beers You Must Try
When you visit Mountain Brewing Company in Worcester, you can get to sample all of their beers. However, when you’re out and about and given a small selection of Mountain Brewing Beers to choose from, what do you choose? I would say try them all…. Mwaahaaahaaa (evil laugh with pinkie finger at corner of mouth) No jokes aside. Never fear when MBKitchen is near, because today my beer loving friends… I am happy to share with you my 5 favourite beers so hopefully it will help you to make an easier decision!
So without further ado, let’s dive straight in, because I am sure you are as thirsty as I am.
Mountain Brewing Co. Fynbos Ale: A Gentle Kiss of Nature
Fynbos Ale was inspired by PG to brew something absolutely local.
Why?
Because local is just flipping lekker!
And besides with over 9000 species of Fynbos found alone in the Klibokkop Nature Reserve how can one not take advantage of these local botanical ingredients?
PG specifically picked a single species to make this rich floral beer.
This has to be my ultimate favourite lighter beers. Under no circumstance must this beer be under estimated! Just because it has a 4.2% alcohol it doesn’t mean it is gonna taste like water-down dishwater.
IT IS ANYTHING BUT…
Bursting with tons of flavour and complexity oomph. It is just absolutely delicious. A tropical Fruitiness of litchi, warm earthy tones, and bursting with blooming flowers. Lets not forget a Turkish delight twist and a zesty lemon twang. Need I say more?
Oh and just how pretty is this label?
Copper Dawn: A Local Twist to an Austrian Lager
An Austrian lager which is much loved all over the world even as far as Mexico.
It is much so much more fruity as one would expect from a lager. It’s mellow yellow and zesty. The ultimate oxymoron. Even though the alcohol percentage is 4.8% you can just sip, relax and enjoy this one on a hot summers day.
Just so you know the gorgeous scenery on the label is the actual view from Klipbokkop.
Loadshed Lager: Not all loadshedding is bad! 🤣
One word that can make a Saffer blood boil within seconds and cause you to say something that you can’t repeat in front of your mother.
But just because it is loadshedding it doesn’t have to be all that bad. Okay maybe… but one way to dry your tears and calm those nerves is to open a Mountain Brewing Loadshed!
As mentioned earlier in a previous article – unfiltered natural honey is used to make this beer.
If you are not a beer sipper or a craft beer fan, I promise you this one will do a changer for you. The beer is much sweeter as one would expect from a lager. It is refreshingly crisp and citrusy.
Madala’s Gold – Prepare yourself for a roller-coaster ride of note!
Oh boy or boy! What a beer! To this day I honestly can’t tell you if I love this beer or absolutely hate it. But it definitely sticks in your mind. Be prepared to go on a wild and wacky rollercoaster of taste sensation!
The Mountain Brewing Madala’s Gold is a triple hop connoisseur experience of Belgium specialty.
So what does this mean? Distinct notes of bubblegum, banana and candy floss! This is what totally confuses the mind because these notes are not what you would expect to find in a beer.
Yes it is pretty unusual, and that is what I love about Madala’s Gold. It keeps you leaning in for another sip and keeps you mulling over it. It is like it is not nice but as it lingers it is nice. I just don’t know how to describe this to you.
The only way is for you to taste it and tell me in the comments below what your thoughts are!
Mountain Brewing Klipbock Doppelbock – It is not a Stout!
Now this was love at first sip. Hubby ordered it when we did a wine tasting at Stettyn Family Vineyards
It blew me a way. It looks like a stout but it is not – lets get that clear! Slightly sweeter, but man it is creamy and smooth and dark. Bursting with notes of Original Wilson Toffee, chocolate and coffee.
I know I said this is not a stout – but damn it will honestly give Kilkenney and Guinness a massive run for their money.
It really is just that good!
Mountain Brewing split this malted beer in to different mashing temperatures to bring out multiple flavours and aromas that melt together to form a well balanced dark beer with a crisp lager finish.
This one is highly recommended!
But in all honesty all their beers are pretty awesome and I haven’t had beer from other craft breweries that has out shined Mountain Brewing Company.
If you would like to try to some of Mountain Brewing beers you can find them at Mothercity Liquors.
